Football Recap: Gettysburg Warriors vs. Mifflin County Huskies
Gettysburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mifflin County Huskies. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Gettysburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mauricio Escobar, who picked up 165 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Escobar showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 69 yards. Another passer making a difference was Grant Johnson, who threw for 293 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.
Mifflin County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Kauffman, who rushed for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 175 rushing yards gave Kauffman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Hartung, who picked up 97 receiving yards and two scores.
