Football Recap: Collins-Maxwell Falls Short Against Ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck

Collins-Maxwell faced Gladbrook-Reinbeck in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Collins-Maxwell took a blow against Gladbrook-Reinbeck, falling 54-13. Collins-Maxwell was red-hot offensively heading into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the five matchups prior), but Gladbrook-Reinbeck's defense proved too tough.

Treyvon Herron had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 339 yards and seven TDs on only 15 carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards for Gladbrook-Reinbeck. Thanks to that big game, Herron is now up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Collins-Maxwell's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Collins-Maxwell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 61-12 victory against North Tama on the 10th. As for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, they have also already played their next game, a 56-20 win against Clarksville on the 10th.
