Baseball Recap: East St. Louis Comes Up Short

East St. Louis had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-13 to make it six. They came up short against the O'Fallon Panthers, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Tuesday.

As for O'Fallon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

For O'Fallon's part, Alexander Ross looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ross has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, O'Fallon got a massive performance out of Cole Becker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Luka Freidenburg, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East St. Louis will welcome Cahokia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Flyers are facing the Comanches at the right time seeing as the Comanches are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for O'Fallon, they will face off against Vianney at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
