Baseball Recap: Bucktail Comes Up Short

Bucktail came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-2 to the Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights. The Bucks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bucktail saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keller Friese, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Friese is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

Bucktail now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Neumann Regional Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Bucktail and Neumann Regional Academy will both be playing Montgomery the next time they take the field. Bucktail will host Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Neumann Regional Academy will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
