Softball Recap: Austintown-Fitch Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Austintown-Fitch won the last time they faced Paul VI and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-2 win. Considering the Falcons have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Austintown-Fitch got a massive performance out of Kaliana Ray, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Ray has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Alyssa Rodgers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Austintown-Fitch lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paul VI didn't launched any home runs.

The victory was the third in a row for Austintown-Fitch, bringing their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Paul VI, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Coming up, Austintown-Fitch will venture away from home to take on Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Paul VI, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Independence on the 24th.
