Baseball Recap: Culver Academies Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pioneer on Thursday, Culver Academies came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 8-0 to the Elkhart Lions on Saturday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Culver Academies saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Schumacher, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. Schumacher is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Culver Academies' loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Elkhart, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Culver Academies and Elkhart are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will take on South Bend Saint Joseph at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elkhart, they are taking a road trip to challenge Westview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
