Softball Recap: Edgewood Crusaders vs. Milton Red Hawks
Edgewood lost to Milton back in April of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Crusaders took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Hawks. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sophia Avena was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Edgewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Pomraning, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Milton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
