Baseball Game Preview: Cromwell Panthers vs. Immaculate Mustangs

The Cromwell Panthers will take on the Immaculate Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cromwell 3.9, Immaculate 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Cromwell is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Housatonic a 3-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Tyler Bonelli's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cromwell's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Coty Averill, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Immaculate not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6th (when they won 22-1). They blew past Northwestern Regional 9-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Cromwell's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Immaculate, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
