Winters dropped down to 12-14 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-2 to the Durham Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 last Monday.

Winters saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Raegan Hurst also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Durham, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

On Durham's side, Sadie Sjolund was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Sjolund has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Ashley Spence was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Trinity Kolu, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
