Basketball Game Preview: Dorchester Longhorns vs. East Butler Tigers

Dorchester hasn't had much luck against East Butler recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Dorchester Longhorns will be playing at home against the East Butler Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

Dorchester is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They took a 45-28 bruising from Cedar Bluffs.

Despite the defeat, Dorchester saw an underclassman step up: freshman Thor Nerud dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Nerud also set a new season-high mark in steals with four.

Meanwhile, East Butler put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 66-24 win over Nebraska Lutheran. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.

East Butler pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Dorchester, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Dorchester might still be hurting after the 61-35 defeat they got from East Butler in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Dorchester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
