Basketball Game Preview: Faith Christian Patriots vs. Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders

Faith Christian hasn't had much luck against Harrells Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Faith Christian Patriots will be playing at home against the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders at 7:00 p.m.

Faith Christian is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Liberty Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Heat are ranked 155th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was MATT PRIDGEN, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of NOAH MAYO, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, Harrells Christian Academy came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 79-61 win over the Eagles.

Harrells Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Faith Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Antonio Mckoy, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Harrells Christian Academy's points. Dashaun Mckoy was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
