Football Recap: Baldwin Park Braves vs. Northview Vikings
Baldwin Park lost against Northview back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Braves took a hard 37-21 fall against the Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Vikings are ranked 113th).
Despite the loss, Baldwin Park still got an impressive performance from Valentino May, who threw for 257 yards and three TDs.
Even if they lost, Baldwin Park's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Gregory Holland, Francisco Navarro, and Landiss Whitener, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Northview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaishon Bledsoe, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and one touchdown. Aaron Guillen helped out on the ground, rushing for 99 yards and a rushing touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Baldwin Park and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Northview, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
