Soccer Recap: Monterey's Undefeated Season over After 22 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Monterey can now relate to. They fell just short of the Americas Trail Blazers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Monterey came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Americas are ranked 149th).

Monterey's goal came courtesy of Frankie Diaz, who's now up to 27 this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monterey fell to 19-1-2. As for Americas, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season.

Monterey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Americas, they will challenge Richland at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
