Recap: Marvin Ridge Mavericks vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
The Marvin Ridge Mavericks are still undefeated this season after their contest against the Rock Hill Bearcats on Thursday, but the Rock Hill Bearcats came as close as anyone has to beating them. Marvin Ridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over Rock Hill. The victory was all the more spectacular given Marvin Ridge's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 54th in North Carolina, while Rock Hill is ranked sixth in South Carolina).
Despite the loss, Rock Hill still got an impressive performance from De?Ashaj Crawford, who scored 34 points. Aubrey Stevenson was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 6 assists.
Marvin Ridge pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Rock Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
Marvin Ridge will stay at home for another game and welcome Providence at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. As for Rock Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against South Pointe at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Pointe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday.
