Football Game Preview: Potomac Wolverines vs. Wise Pumas + Official Tickets

Potomac hasn't had much luck against Wise recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolverines will look to defend their home field against the Pumas at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Potomac comes in on six and Wise on three.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Potomac against Northwestern as the squad secured a 48-3 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won four contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Potomac got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Malik Iracks out in front who rushed for 54 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Another pass catcher making a difference was Cameron Hyman, who picked up 56 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Wise won against DuVal last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Pumas strolled past Eleanor Roosevelt with points to spare, taking the game 35-16.

Potomac better keep an eye on Kameron Parker. He was instrumental in Wise's win, picking up 75 receiving yards and two scores, while also rushing for 80 yards and one TD. Xaiver Reed did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 115 receiving yards.

Wise's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Potomac, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Potomac has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 233.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wise struggles in that department as they've been averaging 154.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Potomac took a serious blow against Wise in their previous matchup back in October of 2018, falling 48-6. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wolverines were down 41-6.
