Football Recap: Gabriel Peach Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pflugerville + How To Watch

Hays lost to Pflugerville back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hawks snuck past the Panthers with a 35-31 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hays to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriel Peach, who rushed for 72 yards and one TD, and also picked up 97 receiving yards. Tacoma Ames was in the mix as well, providing the Hawks with two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hays was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pflugerville only rushed for 86 rushing yards.

Despite the loss, Pflugerville still got an impressive performance from Cole Taylor, who threw for 275 yards and four TDs.

Hays' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pflugerville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Hays will head out on the road to face off against Hendrickson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be Hays' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Pflugerville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fort Bend Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m.
