Basketball Recap: Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Starts Season with Win at Home

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They breezed past the River City Believers Academy Soldiers to the tune of 65-22.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ronnie Marvell out in front who shot 43% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Marvell has posted since back in January. Nathan Avitia was another key player, going 7-for-13 on his way to 14 points along with five boards and three steals.

Coming up, Calvary Chapel Christian Academy will take on McCauley Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th. As for River City Believers Academy, they will square off against Salem Sayers Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 14th.
