Jamiroquai Pickney leads a balanced attack to beat Texas School for the Deaf

Recap: Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers vs. Texas School for the Deaf Rangers

After losing to the Texas School for the Deaf Rangers the last time they met, the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Indiana School for the Deaf came out on top against Texas School for the Deaf by a score of 45-35 on Thursday. Given Indiana School for the Deaf's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 298th in Indiana, while Texas School for the Deaf is ranked 1217th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indiana School for the Deaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamiroquai Pickney, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Pickney pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden DeFalco, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Indiana School for the Deaf and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Texas School for the Deaf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Indiana School for the Deaf won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Maryland School for the Deaf at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. One thing working in Maryland School for the Deaf's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for Texas School for the Deaf, they will be playing at home against Brentwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
