Basketball Game Preview: Pantego Christian Panthers vs. Prince of Peace Eagles

The Pantego Christian Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Prince of Peace Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pantego Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Prince of Peace likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Pantego Christian couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 92-55 blowout they got against Shelton. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Tristan Brown was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Stone Thiel was another key player, going 8 for 11 on his way to 20 points.

Meanwhile, Prince of Peace had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 62-55 victory over the Warriors.

Prince of Peace has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Pantego Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Pantego Christian ended up a good deal behind Prince of Peace when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 73-55. Can Pantego Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
