            Baseball Preview: Service Cougars vs. West Valley Wolf Pack        
        
		
        
        
            The Service Cougars will head out on the road to  challenge  the West Valley Wolf Pack  at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Service has 18 straight  wins, West Valley has seven straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Service picked up another tournament win  on Thursday. They came out on top against Colony by a score of  6-2. Those six runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
 The team  relied heavily on  Rilen Niclai, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.  Palmer Dalton also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, West Valley came up short against Soldotna on Thursday and fell  4-1.
 West Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Elias Powell, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run and one  double.
 Service pushed their record up to 5-0 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Everything went Service's way against West Valley in their previous matchup  back in June of 2017, as Service made off with  a  15-5 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success,  or do  the Wolf Pack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
