Softball Recap: Manchester Essex Wins Going Away Against Amesbury

Manchester Essex hadn't done well against Amesbury recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hornets blew past the Redhawks 10-2. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Redhawks back in April, they had to take a 19-7 defeat.

Manchester Essex is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Amesbury, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Manchester Essex will square off against rival Ipswich at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Amesbury is set to face off against their familiar foe Georgetown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
