Soccer Recap: St. John Paul II Comes Up Short

St. John Paul II lost against Rickards on Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Panthers might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Raiders an easy 4-0 win. While losing is never fun, St. John Paul II can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 587th, while Rickards are ranked 249th).

St. John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Rickards, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marianna at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026. Rickards and Franklin County will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
