Softball Game Preview: West Linn Lions vs. Silverton Foxes

The West Linn Lions will head out to face off against the Silverton Foxes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Linn will be strutting in after a victory while Silverton will be coming in after a defeat.

West Linn is headed out to face Silverton after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. West Linn put the hurt on Grant with a sharp 17-1 win on Tuesday.

Avery Wolf made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Emery Curtis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Meg Allen was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Silverton had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 11-4 to Dallas on Tuesday.

Zellee Herman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Houts, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

West Linn beat Silverton 7-2 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Linn since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
