Football Recap: Greater Latrobe Takes a Loss

Greater Latrobe had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Kiski Area Cavaliers, falling 34-13. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Dominic Scarton threw for 55 yards on nine of 14 attempts. Owen Burket was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Kiski Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Landyn Artman went supernova, throwing for 191 yards and four TDs on only 11 passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (146.8).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Latrobe will square off against Pine-Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' defense better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 40.7 points per game this season. As for Kiski Area, they will take on Armstrong at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will be up against the River Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
