Volleyball Recap: La Joya Community Wins Going Away Against Glendale

La Joya Community not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Glendale Cardinals as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Fighting Lobos haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Nayana Walton paced La Joya Community's offense, picking up six kills. Walton were helped by Aleesa Medina and Samantha Yee, who contributed nine assists each. Medina was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

La Joya Community's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Glendale, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Coincidentally, La Joya Community and Glendale will both be playing Independence the next time they take the court. The Fighting Lobos will host the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cardinals will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
