Basketball Game Preview: Field Falcons vs. Orange Lions

The Field Falcons will take on the Orange Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Field will be strutting in after a victory while Orange will be coming in after a defeat.

If Field beats Orange with 56 points on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Field enjoyed a cozy 56-41 win over Springfield on Monday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Spartans are ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Field's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Delilah Rahe, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Audrey Richmond, who went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Richmond a new career-high. Mckayla Miller was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Orange was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 46-45 to Harvey.

Field pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Orange, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
