Softball Recap: Livingston Academy Comes Up Short

Livingston Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Stone Memorial on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kendall Simpson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Hutchison, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Livingston Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Stone Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Livingston Academy will challenge Cumberland County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stone Memorial, they will take on Monterey at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
