With a playoff win on the line, Timnath rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers by a score of 65-53. The victory was familiar territory for the Cubs, who have now won five matches in a row.

Timnath's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Max Roselle, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. Roselle is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Hemme, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Timnath was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 15-4 when they've passed the ball that well.

Despite the defeat, Montezuma-Cortez saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trey Hall shot 42% from the field on his way to 16 points. Caidin Leonard was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points.

Timnath's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Montezuma-Cortez, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 17-7.

Timnath wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-55 victory against Aspen on the 8th. Montezuma-Cortez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
