Basketball Recap: Bre Kidd Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lutheran West

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Culver Academies, Lowell was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Lutheran West Longhorns out 60-57. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 174th in Indiana, while the Longhorns are ranked 455th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lowell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bre Kidd, who posted 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Reagan Claus, who scored nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Lowell was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Lowell's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Lutheran West, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowell will venture away from home to challenge La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Lutheran West, they will challenge Beachwood at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
