Football Recap: Saraland Takes Down Pike Road in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Saraland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pike Road Patriots with a sharp 56-32 victory. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Saraland's win came down to the chemistry between Jamison Roberts and his top target Deshawn Spencer. Roberts threw for 352 yards and four TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes while Spencer gained 313 total yards and five touchdowns. Spencer's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.

Saraland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gunner Gibbs, who threw for 254 yards and four touchdowns. O'Mari Smith also helped out as he racked up 109 receiving yards.

The victory keeps Saraland at an undefeated 12-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 42.2 points this season. As for Pike Road, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3.

Coming up, Saraland will challenge Benjamin Russell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,128 yards in their previous games. Pike Road does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
