Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield and Stone Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Springfield had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-0 to the Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 24-9-1. As for Stone Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7-1 record this season.

Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stone Memorial, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Cocke County on the 20th.
