Baseball Game Preview: Appleton West Terrors vs. Kimberly Papermakers

Appleton West is 0-10 against Kimberly since May of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Terrors will face off against the Papermakers at 4:30 p.m. Appleton West will be strutting in after a win while Kimberly will be coming in after a loss.

While Appleton West's victory against Oshkosh West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Terrors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Terrors as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Loren Georger, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Charlie Blevins also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Appleton West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Kimberly's offense. They lost 6-0 to Hudson on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Papermakers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Appleton West's record is now 2-8. As for Kimberly, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3-1.

Appleton West might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Kimberly in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Terrors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
