Basketball Recap: Farrell Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Julius Phillips Jr and Juelz Johnson

Farrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Hickory Hornets didn't end well, with the Farrell Steelers falling 67-51. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Steelers of the 61-57 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Farrell had strong showings from Juelz Johnson, who went 5 for 12 en route to 16 points in addition to seven assists and five steals, and Julius Phillips Jr, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Trae Cousin, who posted nine points.

Farrell's record now sits at 3-7. As for Hickory, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Farrell has already played their next contest (against Mercer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hickory has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Slippery Rock.
