Basketball Recap: Iowa Colony's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Iowa Colony extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Eryn Roberts. The Iowa Colony Pioneers walked away with a 39-31 victory over the Angleton Wildcats on Friday thanks in part to Roberts, who went 7 of 15 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Kenadie Francis was another key player, putting up six points and three blocks. What's more, she also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Iowa Colony is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for Angleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing La Porte the next time they take the court. Angleton will head out to face La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Iowa Colony will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
