Volleyball Recap: Columbus' Winning Streak Snapped at 15 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Columbus can now relate to. They fell just short of the Ringgold Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Columbus sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 16-14.

Columbus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sophia Dinh, who had 13 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Jaslyn Watts, who had 41 digs and one assist.

Kinsley Killingsworth was nothing short of spectacular for Ringgold: she had 28 digs and three assists. That's the most assists Killingsworth has posted since back in September.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 31-19. As for Ringgold, they have been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-11 record this season.

Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ringgold, they will take on Franklin County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
