Baseball Recap: Vandercook Lake Comes Up Short

Grass Lake hit Vandercook Lake with a nine-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jayhawks lost 15-4 to the Warriors. The Jayhawks haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Vandercook Lake saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Barnes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run. Another was Hunter Kurzynowski, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Vandercook Lake's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Grass Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
