Softball Recap: Lackey Chargers vs. Northern Patriots

Lackey lost against Northern back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lackey Chargers fell victim to a tough 20-1 defeat at the hands of the Northern Patriots. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lackey in their matchups with Northern: they've now lost four in a row.

For Northern's part, Danielle Sypolt was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Sypolt has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Sypolt was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Reagan Powell was incredible, going 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Peyton Dolina, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
