Softball Recap: Alhambra Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

After losing to Acalanes the last time they met, Alhambra decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 10-2 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Willa Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mia Brady, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Genevieve Hernandez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alhambra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Alhambra is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Acalanes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Alhambra will welcome College Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Acalanes, they will challenge Clayton Valley Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ugly Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Dons surely won't give up without a fight.
