Softball Game Preview: Ingram Moore Warriors vs. Llano Yellowjackets

Ingram Moore hasn't had much luck against Llano recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Ingram Moore beats Llano with 15 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Comfort on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kylie Traub made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ingram Moore let McKenna McClintock and Jaycee Crawley run wild. McClintock went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Crawley went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave McClintock a new career-high. Marley McClintock was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Ingram Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .550 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Llano). They put the hurt on Florence with a sharp 31-16 win on Friday. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Ingram Moore's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Llano, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Ingram Moore suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Llano in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
