            Softball Preview: Union Grove Broncos vs. Elkhorn Elks        
        
		
        
        
            The Union Grove Broncos are taking a road trip to  take on the Elkhorn Elks  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Union Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3  runs per game  this season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Union Grove and Elkhorn, and Union Grove kept the tradition alive. The Broncos came out on top against the Elks by a score of  10-5  on Monday. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by  exactly five  runs.

 Ciara Hage was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   nine  hits. Hage was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double. Those  two  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Ava Greening and  Emma Santarelli did most of the damage at the plate:  Greening  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Santarelli  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  Greening has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  McKenna Bones, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI.
 Union Grove  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhorn only managed eight  hits.
 Union Grove is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record  this season. As for Elkhorn, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 10-5.
