Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). They put the hurt on the Lake View Chiefs/Maidens with a sharp 20-5 win on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Jackson Gonzalez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nash Gonzales, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Liberty's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Lake View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21-1 record this season.

Liberty will take on Levelland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake View, they will face off against Big Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs/Maidens are facing the Steers at the right time seeing as the Steers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
