3A Region 2 recap October 1, 2013
Harding Academy added to the longest winning streak in 3A Region 2 this week by beating Episcopal, 21-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Mayflower was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in the league. The Eagles beat Perryville 62-12 earlier in the week.
Riverview's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Lee threw for 157 and 2 touchdowns and Kirklan Pettis had 72 yards receiving. On the ground Tielyr Fulgham chipped in 70 yards. Weston Moore helped Riverview's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 55 yards.
The Raiders' dynamic duo of Lee and Pettis proved to be unstoppable against Bald Knob, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Moore helped Riverview's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 55 yards.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Riverview takes on Barton. Mike mcCain's team's offense has scored 118 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Bears have allowed only 36 on the year.
The Raiders are currently in third, while Barton is in second.
Riverview made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,587 from 11,125. The advance stemmed from a 20-6 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
