Basketball Recap: Centreville Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Centreville took on Oakton on Friday. The Centreville Wildcats lost to the Oakton Cougars at home by a 57-41 margin. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 69-64.

Defeat or not, Centreville got some senior leadership from Jaxson Davis and Luke Scharkowski. Davis posted 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Scharkowski put up ten points. Davis' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Even though they lost, Centreville was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Centreville's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Oakton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Centreville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-53 defeat against Chantilly on the 15th. As for Oakton, they have also already played their next contest, a 49-39 loss against James Madison on the 15th.
