Volleyball Recap: Riesel Indians vs. Rosebud-Lott Cougars

If Riesel was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Chilton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell just short of the Rosebud-Lott Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Riesel actually scored more points across those five sets (107-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-20, 25-23, 14-25, 16-14.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Jackson, who had 14 digs and two aces. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addi Cope, who had 21 digs and four assists.

Riesel's record now sits at 20-16. As for Rosebud-Lott, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
