Baseball Recap: Raton Victorious

It's playoff time, and Raton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the McCurdy Bobcats 11-10. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 7-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Camron Edmondson and Azden Romero did most of the damage at the plate: Edmondson went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Romero went 2-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Edmondson a new career-high.

The win got Raton back to even at 11-11. As for McCurdy, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.

Coming up, Raton will square off against Eunice at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. McCurdy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
