Basketball Game Preview: Johnson County Sports Association Lions vs. Atlas HomeSchool Rattlers

The Johnson County Sports Association Lions will challenge the Atlas HomeSchool Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Johnson County Sports Association was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-36 to Non Varsity Opponent. The Lions have struggled against Non Varsity Opponent recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Johnson County Sports Association saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gage Bradley posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Bradley is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Sims, who scored seven points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Johnson County Sports Association smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Atlas HomeSchool was beaten by Cistercian 70-35 back in December of 2024.

Johnson County Sports Association's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Atlas HomeSchool, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Johnson County Sports Association took a serious blow against Atlas HomeSchool when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 94-46. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Johnson County Sports Association was down 46-26.
