Baseball Recap: Glen Burnie's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glen Burnie). They never let the Edgewood Rams get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gophers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Logan Collins was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Glen Burnie is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 0-7 otherwise. Collins was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Glen Burnie let Jordan Dailey and Titan Jackson run wild. Dailey scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Jackson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Dailey has posted since back in March of 2024. Peyton Ingle was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Glen Burnie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Glen Burnie's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Edgewood, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Glen Burnie will welcome Overlea at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Edgewood, they will face off against New Town on Wednesday.
