Football Recap: Pettus Comes Up Short

Pettus extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They took a blow against the Kenedy Lions, falling 61-8. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

As for Kenedy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kenedy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Salas out in front who rushed for 148 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries. Another signal caller making a difference was Jericho Jackson, who threw for 212 yards and five touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pettus will take on Ben Bolt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Badgers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kenedy, they will face off against Schulenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
