Softball Recap: Eldred Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sullivan West, Eldred was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Chapel Field Christian Lions 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Giada Donato spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Olivia Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Furler, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Eldred's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Chapel Field Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Eldred will be playing at home against Rockland Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chapel Field Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Sullivan West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
