Recap: First Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Warner Christian Academy Eagles
After a string of three wins, the First Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 89-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Warner Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (59), First Baptist Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
First Baptist Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden McCoy, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCoy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Solomon Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
Even though they lost, First Baptist Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Warner Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Nicholas out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Flores, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
First Baptist Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Warner Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
First Baptist Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Halifax Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Warner Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Crooms Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
